Global Business Practicum

The Global Business Practicum is an intensive, in-country study experience for students, who experience the culture, society and business practices first-hand whilst applying their business and management skills. The GBP is offered as a summer and winter semester subject.

The highlight of the subject is a two-week work project undertaken in teams at an overseas company. Recent destination cities include Bangkok, Singapore, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Examples of the types of companies previously involved include banks, insurance firms, engineering companies and accounting firms.

Melbourne Business Practicum

The Melbourne Business Practicum aims to provides real experience in a workplace environment, working on a challenging project for credit. Practicum involve a team of four students, working with a Melbourne based host organisation during the Winter and Summer term for 10 consecutive days, with a week of induction and post assessments.

Expand your horizons with a Dual Degree

Our dual degree programs give students an opportunity to study internationally while expanding functional expertise into a related business discipline. It also signals a commitment to a career in International Business to prospective employers.

The University of Melbourne has agreements with Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and HEC in Montréal, Canada that allow high-achieving Masters of International Business students to undertake a year of international study at the partner university.

Students who successfully complete a dual degree program will graduate with the Master of International Business from the University of Melbourne and either the MSc Marketing Management from Bocconi or MSc Supply Chain Management from HEC Montréal.
