Graduate Ambassador Team
Melbourne Business School offers dedicated and enthusiastic students the opportunity to become part of the Graduate Ambassador Team (GAT). GAT students volunteer their time to help with a range of marketing, recruitment, alumni and current student activities. It is a unique opportunity to gain real life marketing and promotion experience and build a network of peers and early career professionals.
I worked on a project for a not-for-profit organisation, whose beneficiaries were the aboriginal community of Shepparton. It helped me to understand how important business decisions and processes can help or hinder communities.
Community volunteering is becoming more and more widespread in Australia. Employers favourably view applicants who can demonstrate that they contributed their skills/knowledge to a socially supporting organisations. For international students, it is an excellent way to interact in the Australian community, to build networks and to improve communication skills.
