FBE Student Ambassador Program
What’s in it for you
FBE Student Ambassadors volunteer at Orientation and Open Day, participate in marketing and recruitment campaigns, lead FBE Chats & Snacks, guided tours, wellbeing programs and public speaking competitions. As an ambassador, you would support new students’ transition to university and foster a sense of belonging in the student community.

Working groups
As part of the FBE Student Ambassador program, you can collaborate with FBE staff to co-design Faculty projects by getting involved in working groups listed below:
FBE Chats & Snacks Design and deliver FBE Chats & Snacks to foster connections among students. Organise workshops, networking games, and cultural activities that showcase the diversity of the FBE student community. |
Wellbeing Ambassadors Group Work closely with the FBE Student Wellbeing Team to build, promote, and adapt the wellbeing program to suit the holistic needs of all FBE students. You will be provided with relevant training to share information with peers about the University’s wellbeing services, programs, activations, and events. |
Public Speaking Group Join this group to improve your communication and public speaking skills. Design, deliver, and participate in initiatives that build your confidence as a communicator and speaker, such as public speaking competitions. |
Discover Melbourne Group Help new FBE students explore the University of Melbourne and the city by planning and leading guided tours. Introduce them to Melbourne's highlights and share tips about your favourite spots. |
Marketing Communications Group Collaborate with the FBE Student Communications team to embed student voices in the University’s communications programs and channels. Apply your communication skills to provide feedback and deliver communications that enhance FBE students' experiences. |
Eligibility requirements
- Be an FBE student (BCom, Melbourne Business School, Master of Commerce, Master of Indigenous Business Leadership, and PhD).
- Have completed at least one semester of studies by the start of your FBE Student Ambassador role.
- Be available to attend the Program Launch in the week beginning Monday 6 July 2026, and Orientation Week in the week beginning Monday 20 July 2026.
- Have a good knowledge of FBE programs and events, and a genuine commitment to giving back to your community.
Your commitment
The program duration is one semester with the possibility to extend your participation to a full year.
Ambassadors are required to contribute a minimum of three program activities (approximately 10 hours of volunteering) and attend training for ambassadors to be eligible for the Melbourne Plus Community Engagement credential.
How to apply
Submit your application to join the FBE Student Ambassador Program, including your current resume and a video (max 2 minutes) of yourself covering the following questions:
1) What makes you a great Student Ambassador?
2) Name some useful tips you would share with a new BCom/MBS student.
3) Which FBE events and working groups would you like to be a part of, and why?
