Students' Association of Management and Marketing
The Students’ Association of Management and Marketing (SAMM) is a thriving student network based at the University of Melbourne. We are a club which focuses on providing both undergraduate and post-graduate students with learning opportunities in the fields of management and marketing. Our vision, which guides everything we do, is: “Be prepared, stay informed and get connected”. We strive to achieve this goal by providing students with professional development opportunities, networking opportunities as well as by holding seminars where students can learn more about the fields of marketing and management.
Our communications team also produces articles and podcasts, covering a range of topics including corporate social responsibility, career insights, and more. In doing so, we help provide our members with some essential knowledge that they can take with them as they start their careers.
At the FBE Clubs Expo, SAMM will provide a run through of our events for the semester and how you can become a member or even part of the SAMM committee. We will finish off with a Q&A session.

Equity Research Association
Equity Research Association (ERA) is one of the first student-led university clubs in Australia dedicated to equities research. ERA comprises incredibly talented research analysts who perform comprehensive analysis on companies. We differentiate ourselves by placing a unique focus on the analysis process of economic fundamentals at a company level.
Our niche has been overwhelmingly well-received by the wider student body, with over 250 members supporting ERA in less than four months of establishment, all done during the pandemic. The immense engagement we have achieved, despite the pandemic, reflects the growing number of opportunities to engage with the industry’s aspiring professionals and future leaders. In this information session, we will be going through the upcoming activities scheduled for Semester 1, how to join us, and a Q&A at the end.

Entrepreneurship and Growth Investment Society
Entrepreneurship and Growth Investment Society(EGIS) was officially launched in June 2019 at the University of Melbourne. We are the first startup and Venture Capital/Private Equity focused student society in Melbourne, dedicating to cultivate an entrepreneurial environment across the campus whilst broadening students’ exposure to company investing. We hold various events throughout the year, inviting Australian entrepreneurs and investors to share their experience with our members. Melbourne Business School Students Association
The Melbourne Business School Students Association is a student-run body catering to all Melbourne Business School Students and aims to provide a multitude of opportunities to hone students' professional skills and expand their social circle.
This semester, we aim to provide you with unfettered opportunities regardless of your location - overseas or in Melbourne. We intend to host online and offline events, with an array of blended events. We will provide access to professional development opportunities so that you're ready for the unique opportunities in a post COVID-19 world. We hope that our events inspire and unlock the potential in all our members e.g. unlocking inner social behaviours through our vast social events; or professional goals through our professional events.
In this session, we will be introducing our plans for our events in Semester 1, 2021, followed by a Q&A.

University Network for Investing and Trading (UNIT)
University Network for Investing and Trading (UNIT) is the largest investing and trading-focused student club at the University of Melbourne, having over 1300 members in 2020.
We run various events, workshops, seminars, case competitions and write articles and research reports to provide free financial education to students from all different backgrounds and levels of knowledge in investing and trading.
In this information session, we discuss the exciting things happening with UNIT for the year ahead. Then, we'll wrap up with a short Q&A.

Global Consulting Group
The Global Consulting Group (GCG) is a charity which provides pro-bono consulting services to other charities and not-for-profits.
We do this by connecting university students with experienced professionals who then work together to solve business problems for other charities, combining the energy and passion of today’s youth with the experience and wisdom of our industry leaders.
The organisation currently has 130 volunteers across several locations in Australia and has completed over 150 projects for clients such as the United Nations, Tedx, St Vincent De Paul and Left Right Think Tank. GCG is sponsored by Bain & Company and AlphaBeta, and has informal partnerships with a range of reputed consulting firms.

The Women in Economics Students’ Society (WESS) was founded with the overarching aim of encouraging women to study and pursue a career in economics. We hold events and produce newsletters and other publications in pursuit of the Society’s aims. WESS has developed contacts with a number of economics organisations throughout the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and has a strong relationship with the Women in Economics Network (WEN). Actuarial Students' Society
Founded in 1989, the Actuarial Students' Society has established itself as the University of Melbourne's official society for students undertaking actuarial studies, with the support of the University of Melbourne Centre for Actuarial Studies.
We provide students with comprehensive information about the actuarial profession, accreditation and career opportunities in both traditional and non-traditional actuarial fields. Aside from professional development, we also aim to strengthen our relationship with the student community through our social events.

Melbourne University Consulting Club aims to bridge the gap between academic studies and the consulting industry, offering insightful workshops aimed to equip students with the necessary skills required to enter the consulting industry.
Over the years the club has established partnerships with leading consulting firms like KPMG, Deloitte, Bain, Nous and Accenture and invited professionals from these multinational organisations to host workshops for students. BusinessOne Consulting
BusinessOne Consulting is a rapidly expanding pro-bono student consulting group, with a network of branches across Australia. Our mission is to “empower the students of today, to create the consultants of tomorrow”. We equip all students with the crucial skills, resources and experiences quintessential for a career in professional services with an edge of consulting.
To date, our student consultants have completed 100+ client projects nationwide, with some of our previous clients including Koala mattress, Hatch and BioFuel Innovations. What has driven our success, and what makes us different from other pro-bono consulting groups is our emphasis on delivering consulting engagements for startups and businesses with innovative business models. We have a strong entrepreneurial culture in our project teams, which is complemented by our series of startup events each semester. In addition to providing pro-bono consulting services with our teams of student consultants plus a range of events, we connect all student members with workshops, mentoring programs and career opportunities from firms such as EY, Nous and BCG.

Banking on Women
Banking on Women strives to Empower, Educate and Encourage our members and provide them with the industry-specific knowledge needed to differentiate oneself in today’s competitive landscape. As a club that welcomes students from all backgrounds and of all genders, our mission is to champion gender equality in the financial and professional services industries through our focus of gender diversity. We are dedicated to developing our members’ professional skills and helping them become future leaders in their prospective careers.
Across the year, we run many educational and professional events for our large member base. These enable our members to grow a strong network and develop a competitive advantage when applying for internships and graduate positions. Our members also benefit from resources such as the ‘Bold with BoW’ Mentoring Program and the ‘BoWTalks’ podcast which addresses the experiences and challenges faced by women in business. Melbourne Microfinance Initiative
Are you passionate about creating tangible social change? Daydreaming about joining a like-minded community of high-performing, curious and driven students? If so, you’ve come to the right place.
Having just celebrated our 10th birthday, MMI is the first and largest student-run microfinance organisation established at an Australian university. With the support of top consulting firms such as Kearney, McKinsey & Co. and Bain & Co., we provide pro-bono consultancy to microfinance institutions and not-for-profits, while empowering students to make a difference through social impact-focused events. At the heart of MMI is our belief in sustainable, real-world impact. Through our consulting services, we aim to improve the lives of those in underprivileged communities.
To date, we have completed 42 projects across 12 countries over four continents. Moreover, MMI’s suite of engaging publications, panels, workshops and competitions inspire students to consider how they can generate change in their local communities, equipping them with the skills to do so.
Our reach and influence continues to grow every year, with our Global Microfinance Case Competition attracting 200+ submissions from 16 domestic and international universities in 2020. Our team is always up for a chat and cannot wait to meet you all soon!

Society of Marketing and Communications (SMAC)
Since its inception, SMAC’s goal has been to provide students enrolled in the Master of Marketing Communications (MMC) program, with an opportunity to be a part of a community of like-minded individuals who share their passions both; academic and professional. In the rather short period of time that SMAC has operated as a club, it has grown on to become an integral part of the MMC cohort. Through of range of professional, academic and social events, SMAC aims to provide all of its members with an opportunity to hone their career skills, provide them with educational support and help them network with key resource people and form new connections within the marketing-communications industry.
We are committed to providing the best possible experience for all our members. Our events are designed specifically to address the unique needs and demands from within the MarComms industry, tailoring an experience for our members that helps them put their best foot forward when they venture out from academia into the professional world.
At the FBE Clubs Expo, SMAC will provide an overview of the club’s mission and vision, taking the audience through our events in the past, and informing them about what we plan on delivering over the next semester. We shall also be answering any questions and/or queries from the audience members, should they have any.
