What is a uni-sourced internship?

A uni-sourced internship is identified by the University in collaboration with industry partners across various disciplines. Uni-sourced roles are an excellent starting point but should not be replied on as your only avenue for finding an internship. They often receive high volumes of applications, so we encourage you to explore the other internship streams as well to maximise your chances of success.

  • You can apply for up to five uni-sourced roles per enrolment period. Please only submit one application per role.

  • Uni-sourced roles will only be visible on SONIA when applications are open.

  • Yes, each role has a maximum number of applications it can accept. Once that limit is reached, the role will be removed from view in SONIA, and you will not be able to apply for the role.

How does it work?

You may apply to enrol in BUSA90525 Business and Economics Internship using a uni-sourced internship. The process generally is:

  1. You join the Uni-sourced placement group in the Sonia platform when applications open.
  2. In Sonia, review and select up to five uni-sourced internships that you want to apply for.
  3. For each uni-sourced internship, you will need to submit a separate application form to us, with an uploaded file of your CV.
  4. After applications close, we will review your eligibility and send your application details to the host organisation(s) that you applied for.
  5. The host organisation(s) will review and invite shortlisted candidates to an interview.
  6. If you are successful in your application, the host organisation will send you an internship offer directly.
  7. After you accept your offer with them, the host organisation will contact us to confirm your successful placement.
  8. We will send you an outcome and offer email to enrol in the subject.
  9. You will need to accept your offer by completing an acceptance form.
  10. We will then enrol you into the subject for you. You cannot enrol yourself into the subject.
