What is the Career Discovery Immersion?
Specifically developed for FBE students in the ‘Discover’ career mapping phase, the Career Discovery Immersion offers structured engagement with industry professionals to help you explore your career options. Whether you’re exploring majors or seeking clarity in your career direction, this series is designed to provide valuable insights and empower you to take the next step.
The Career Discovery Immersion runs twice annually, once in Semester 1 and once in Semester 2, allowing you to choose the timing that best fits your schedule.

Connect with FBE alumni and explore real-world career pathways through Alumni Discovery Roundtables. This interactive, in-person experience is designed to support students in the early stages of career exploration.
Meet alumni working in consulting and strategy, then dive into facilitated small-group roundtable discussions where you can engage directly with industry professionals, ask questions, hear diverse career stories, and gain practical insight into competitive recruitment processes and what a career in consulting really looks like.

To apply for the FBE Career Discovery Immersion, you must be enrolled in the Faculty of Business and Economics.

The program is open to all Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) students and is especially suited to those in the early or ‘Discover’ stage of their career journey.

No. The program is designed for students who are still exploring majors, industries, and career options.

Yes. Students are encouraged to attend multiple panels across different disciplines and may apply for one or more Industry Visits.

Yes. An application is required. Places for the Industry Visits and the Alumni Roundtables are limited and will open February 23. You can apply for semester 1, 2026 here.

No prior industry experience is required. To prepare, we recommend reviewing the session or organisation in advance, preparing 1–2 thoughtful questions, and arriving (or logging in) on time. Students are expected to engage respectfully, listen actively, and participate professionally. For Industry Insight Visits, professional or smart casual attire is required, and students should be mindful that they are representing the University when attending on-site.
