About the Student Reference Group
The FBE Student Reference Group (SRG) brings together students from across the Faculty of Business and Economics to help shape the student experience.
SRG was introduced in 2025 as a forum for student voice. Students have the opportunity to identify and design practical solutions to student challenges and pitch their project to FBE leadership for sponsorship.
What students have told us they want?
- Free women’s hygiene products in restrooms in the Spot building - Implemented in 2025 and continuing
- A buddy program to connect students in their first semester - Planned for implementation
- A better group assignment experience with greater collaboration and accountability - Planned for implementation.

My biggest takeaway from being an SRG member is how powerful student voice can be when it’s structured and collaborative. It also taught me how to communicate ideas clearly and think critically about the student experience beyond my own perspective. FBE student
Working in a diverse team allowed me to understand different perspectives, while also strengthening my ability to communicate ideas clearly and contribute effectively towards a shared goal. It helped me develop both confidence and adaptability in a professional setting. FBE student
